Accounts Payable Assistant

Think Accountancy & Finance are working with a well-established and successful business in North West London who are looking for an experienced finance professional to join their close-knit team as an Accounts Payable Assistant.

This is a really nice opportunity for someone who has a strong background in Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger but wants a role with a bit more variety and exposure.

The business operates within a product-led environment, with a large portfolio of SKUs, multiple warehouses and products sold across retail, online and international markets. Because of this, we're particularly interested in speaking with people who have worked within manufacturing, wholesale, retail, FMCG, e-commerce or another stock-based business.

You'll still take ownership of the day-to-day Purchase Ledger/AP responsibilities, but you'll also get involved with stock and inventory accounting, bank reconciliations, multi-currency transactions, month end and wider finance activities.

What will you be doing?

• Managing Purchase Ledger and processing a high volume of supplier invoices

• Preparing payments and completing supplier reconciliations

• Investigating and resolving invoice and supplier discrepancies

• Completing bank reconciliations, including multi-currency transactions

• Supporting debtor and creditor management

• Getting involved with stock and inventory accounting and reconciliations

• Supporting stock-related checks and investigating stock movements

• Assisting with month end, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations

• Working across a large portfolio of products/SKUs and multiple warehouse locations

• Supporting wider finance activities across the team

The business also sells through online marketplaces, so previous experience working with Amazon Vendor Central, Amazon Seller Central or other e-commerce/marketplace platforms would be a real advantage.

What are we looking for?

Ideally, you'll have:

• Around 4+ years' experience within Accounts Payable/Purchase Ledger

• Experience working within a stock or product-led business

• Exposure to stock/inventory accounting, stock reconciliations or stock movements

• Strong supplier reconciliation and payment-run experience

• Experience with bank reconciliations and ideally multi-currency

• Some exposure to month-end accounting

• Good Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP and SUMIFS

• Experience using an ERP/accounting system

• Some form of accounting education or qualification

• Amazon, e-commerce or online marketplace experience would be a big advantage, but isn't essential

More than anything, we're looking for someone who is reliable, accurate and happy taking ownership of their work. It's a busy role, so you'll need to be comfortable managing different priorities, investigating discrepancies and getting stuck in wherever needed.

• £32,000 - £35,000

• North West London - NW2

• Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm

• Option to start at 8am where needed

• Fully office based

• On-site parking available

• Ideally starting during October
