Accounts Payable Manager
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead our Accounts Payable function and ensure the accurate, efficient and timely processing of supplier transactions.
You will provide clear leadership to the team, maintain strong financial controls and work closely with stakeholders across the business to ensure processes are consistently followed. The role will also take ownership of process improvement, system utilisation and the continued development of the Accounts Payable team.
What You’ll Be Doing
As Accounts Payable Manager, you will:
  • Lead and manage the Accounts Payable team, setting clear responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training and development to ensure the team has the knowledge and capability required to perform effectively.
  • Proactively manage team performance and address any areas requiring improvement.
  • Oversee day-to-day Accounts Payable processes, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
  • Ensure full and effective use of the finance system across the function.
  • Work with stakeholders across the business to ensure agreed processes, controls and procedures are consistently followed.
  • Manage supplier and internal stakeholder queries, ensuring issues are resolved accurately and promptly.
  • Lead and support projects and process-improvement initiatives across the Accounts Payable function.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, strengthen controls and simplify existing processes.
  • Ensure workflows, desktop procedures and other process documents are complete, accurate and regularly reviewed.
  • Maintain high standards of compliance with documented procedures across the team.
  • Support wider Finance projects and undertake other duties appropriate to the role.
About You
To be successful as Accounts Payable Manager, you will have:
  • At least four years’ experience within an Accounts Payable environment.
  • Previous experience managing or supervising an Accounts Payable team.
  • Strong leadership, coaching and performance-management skills.
  • Experience managing change, introducing new procedures or redesigning processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively to strict deadlines.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.
  • Confidence working independently and using your own initiative.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
  • Experience using Workday Financials would be advantageous.
  • The ability to remain organised and effective in a busy, fast-paced environment.
