Accounts Senior/Client Manager in Crawley

TPF Recruitment is supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice with the recruitment of an Accounts Senior / Client Manager to join their Crawley team.

This is a flexible opportunity that can be tailored to the experience and ambitions of the successful candidate.

The role would suit an AAT Level 4 qualified or part-qualified Accounts Senior looking to continue developing their career, as well as a fully qualified or experienced Accountant looking to take ownership of their own portfolio of clients and operate in a Client Manager capacity.

Working alongside experienced Managers and Senior Managers, you will have the opportunity to take increasing responsibility for your own portfolio, build strong client relationships and become a trusted point of contact for your clients.

The Role
You will work with a varied portfolio of clients across a broad range of sectors and business types, with the role covering accounts, tax, VAT, bookkeeping and general practice work.

Depending on your level of experience, responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing and reviewing year end statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, LLPs, charities and limited companies
  • Preparing corporation tax returns and supporting with tax computations
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns
  • Bookkeeping and general accounting duties
  • Managing your own portfolio of clients and acting as a key point of contact
  • Building and maintaining strong, long term client relationships
  • Dealing with client queries and providing practical accounting support
  • Reviewing work completed by more junior members of the team
  • Supporting, training and mentoring junior staff
  • Assisting Managers and Senior Managers with more complex assignments and ad hoc projects
  • Working collaboratively with other specialist teams within the wider business

For the right person, there is genuine scope to take ownership of a portfolio of clients under the support and guidance of the Senior Managers, effectively operating in a Client Manager capacity.

The level of responsibility will be matched to your existing experience, with the opportunity to develop further as you progress.
RequirementsPrevious experience within an accountancy practice
Strong experience across accounts preparation
Experience with bookkeeping and VAT
Good knowledge of general practice work
A client focused approach and strong communication skills
The ability to manage your own workload and meet deadlines
An interest in developing and supporting more junior members of the team

AAT Level 4, ACA or ACCA qualifications would be advantageous, but we are also open to candidates who are qualified by experience.

Experience with CCH, Sage, Xero or QuickBooks would be beneficial, although full training can be provided
