We’re working with a long‑standing chartered accountancy practice in Verwood that is looking to appoint a part‑qualified or qualified Accounts Senior on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys client interaction, routine accounts work, and being part of a small, supportive team.

The practice ideally seeks someone full‑time but is happy to offer flexibility around days and working hours for the right person.

About the Role

This is a varied, hands‑on position supporting a portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and SME clients. You’ll prepare routine accounts, work with client records and bookkeeping information, and communicate directly with clients to gather information, resolve queries, and progress accounts through to completion.

You’ll work closely with the principal and wider team, with support available when needed, while having the autonomy to manage your own workload. The role suits both those looking to continue developing their practice career and experienced accountants seeking a stable, local position where their expertise is valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing routine year‑end statutory accounts for owner‑managed and SME clients
• Preparing accounts from client records and bookkeeping information
• Posting journals and making necessary adjustments
• Working with bookkeeping systems including Sage, Xero and QuickBooks
• Preparing and maintaining electronic working papers
• Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
• Discussing accounts with clients and assisting with sign‑off
• Supporting corporation tax work and computations where required
• Assisting with general accounts and compliance work across the client portfolio
• Working alongside the principal and wider team to ensure client deadlines are met

About You

This role suits a range of candidates, from those with 2–3 years’ post‑qualification experience to more seasoned Accounts Seniors seeking a friendly, local practice.

You may be:

• ACA/ACCA part‑qualified with solid practical experience
• Recently ACA/ACCA qualified with relevant practice experience
