Based in County Antrim, this growing business has developed a strong reputation within its market and offers a busy, professional environment with excellent opportunities for development.Your New RoleAs Accounts Team Leader, you will report to the Financial Controller and take responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of a busy transactional finance function. This is a hands-on position where you will oversee a small accounts team while remaining actively involved across purchase ledger, subcontractor payments, payroll, VAT, sales invoicing and month-end activities.Key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing the processing and authorisation of purchase and subcontractor invoices
• Completing three-way matching and supplier account reconciliations
• Managing supplier queries and resolving invoice or payment discrepancies
• Ensuring CIS and RCT compliance across subcontractor transactions
• Supporting weekly and monthly supplier and subcontractor payment runs
• Processing and overseeing weekly payroll, including timesheets, RTI and auto-enrolment requirements
• Supporting sales invoicing and credit control activities
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns, including UK and ROI transactions
• Assisting with month-end procedures, reconciliations and overhead analysis
• Ensuring expenditure is accurately coded and appropriate financial controls are followed
• Supporting and developing members of the accounts team
• Maintaining accurate supplier records and supporting new account set-up
• Working closely with finance, commercial and operational stakeholders to resolve queries

What You'll Need to SucceedTo be successful in this position, you will ideally be an ATI/AAT-qualified Accounting Technician or equivalent, with at least three years' experience in a senior accounts position.You should also have:

• Previous experience supervising, mentoring or overseeing members of an accounts team
• Strong knowledge of transactional accounting and financial controls
• Practical experience with CIS and RCT
• Experience processing weekly payroll, including RTI and auto-enrolment
• Good knowledge of UK and ROI VAT
• Experience with purchase orders and three-way invoice matching
• Strong Excel skills, ideally including XLOOKUP, PivotTables and advanced formulas
• Strong reconciliation and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines
• Confident communication skills when dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders

Experience working within construction or a similar project-based commercial environment would be highly advantageous.
