Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a leading independent acoustic consultancy for an ambitious Acoustic Consultant to join their expanding London team.

Our client is a respected specialist consultancy delivering high-quality acoustic solutions across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and mixed-use developments throughout the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated graduate or early-career professional who is eager to develop a long-term career within building acoustics.

The Role

As a Graduate Acoustic Consultant, you'll assist with the delivery of building acoustics projects, carrying out on-site surveys and acoustic testing while developing your technical knowledge through structured mentoring and training.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking sound insulation testing in accordance with relevant industry standards.
  • Carrying out environmental noise surveys, reverberation time measurements, speech intelligibility assessments, and mechanical services noise testing.
  • Installing, maintaining, and retrieving environmental noise and vibration monitoring equipment.
  • Assisting with acoustic calculations, modelling, technical analysis, and report writing.
  • Preparing technical drawings and project documentation.
  • Supporting senior consultants with the delivery of projects across a broad range of sectors.
  • Working independently on site while collaborating closely with the wider consultancy team.


About You

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • A degree in Acoustics, Engineering, Physics, Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Up to three years' experience within acoustics or a relevant engineering environment.
  • A full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Applicants from a construction or engineering background with several years' practical experience who are looking to transition into acoustic consultancy are also encouraged to apply, as full training and ongoing professional development will be provided.
