Administration Assistant - Bereavement Services
Location: Canley Office, Cannon Hill Road, Coventry, CV4 7DF
Pay Rate: £13.05 per hour PAYE
Contract Type: Temporary, 3 months with potential to lead to a permanent opportunity.
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, temporary basis.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 4:30pm, 30-minute unpaid break
- Friday: 8:30am - 4:00pm, 30-minute unpaid break
Opus People Solutions are recruiting on behalf of our Client, Coventry City Council, for an Administrative Assistant to support the Bereavement Team on a temporary basis.
Working within a small team, you will provide vital administrative support to officers dealing with burial and cremation processes.
This role would suit someone with administration or customer service experience who is keen to learn new skills and contribute to an essential public service.
The successful candidate will be reliable, confident working independently to support the team and providing a professional service to visitors and callers.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing and inputting burial and cremation medical forms.
- Accurately entering information onto the Epilog system (training provided).
- Performing data entry and maintaining accurate records.
- Answering and acting as the first point of contact for telephone enquiries.
- Providing reception support and gathering information from families and visitors for officers to follow up.
- Supporting officers with day-to-day administrative tasks.
- Filing, scanning, and document management.
- Maintaining office records and databases.
- Providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the office.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Previous administration and customer service experience, or a strong administrative aptitude.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- A willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- The ability to work independently and support the team when required.
Desirable
- Previous data entry experience.
- Previous experience using the Epilog system.
Training and Development
Full training will be provided on:
- Epilog system usage.
- Burial and cremation documentation processes.
- Internal administrative procedures.
There will also be opportunities to develop your skills and take on additional responsibilities as you become established in the role.
