Administration Team Leader

Location: Gravesend, Kent
Salary: £35,000–£40,000 basic salary + discretionary bonus of up to 20% (potential OTE £42,000–£48,000)
Hours: Full-time, office-based (flexible working hours can be discussed)
Essential experience: Previous Team Leader or People Management experience

Are you an experienced Administration Team Leader looking for your next opportunity?

Do you enjoy leading people, keeping things organised and making sure everything runs smoothly? Are you someone who takes pride in developing a team, improving processes and delivering an excellent standard of service?

If so, this could be an exciting opportunity to take the next step in your career. We are looking for a confident, proactive and people-focused Administration Team Leader to join our client, an established and successful Wealth Management practice in Gravesend, Kent.

And here's the important part – you don't need any previous Wealth Management or Financial Services experience. What matters most to us is your ability to lead and motivate an administration team, manage day-to-day operations and create an environment where people can perform at their best. We can teach you the wealth management side of the business and provide the training and support you need to succeed.

Working closely with the Partners, Financial Advisers and wider practice team, you will take ownership of the administration function, ensuring the team operates effectively, clients receive an excellent service and the business continues to grow.

What will you be doing?

This is a varied, hands-on leadership role where you will have the opportunity to make a real difference.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing the team: Managing, supporting and motivating the administration team, overseeing workloads, priorities, performance and training.
  • Keeping operations running smoothly: Taking responsibility for day-to-day administration and ensuring processes are organised, efficient and effective.
  • Overseeing client service: Ensuring client servicing, review schedules, adviser diaries and financial planning administration are managed to a high standard.
  • Driving improvements: Identifying opportunities to improve processes, systems and ways of working to make the team more effective.
  • Maintaining standards: Ensuring accurate records, client communications and CRM information, while adhering to company procedures, compliance requirements and GDPR.
  • Building relationships: Working closely with Partners, Advisers, the Business Operations Manager, Compliance Manager, clients and the centralised Administration Centre.

What are we looking for?

We are much more interested in your leadership and administration management experience than your industry background.

You will ideally have at least two years' experience in an office-based Team Leader, Administration Supervisor or similar people management role, with a proven ability to organise, motivate and develop a team.

You will also bring:

  • Confidence and experience in managing, supporting and developing people.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • A hands-on, solutions-focused approach and the confidence to take ownership.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and experience using CRM or similar business systems.
  • A strong eye for detail and an understanding of the importance of confidentiality and professional standards.
  • A genuine commitment to delivering excellent customer service
  • Experience working with Financial Advisers or high-net-worth clients would be useful, but it is not essential.

Perhaps you currently lead an administration team in professional services, legal, property, healthcare, financial services or another office-based environment and are looking for a fresh challenge. If you have the right management skills and attitude, we would love to hear from you.

What's in it for you?

  • £35,000–£40,000 basic salary, depending on experience.
  • Discretionary bonus of up to 20%, offering potential total earnings of £42,000–£48,000.
  • The opportunity to join an established and successful Wealth Management practice.
  • A key leadership position where you can genuinely influence how the administration function operates.
  • The opportunity to develop your team, introduce improvements and contribute to the continued success of the business.
  • Full training and support in Wealth Management – no previous financial services experience needed.
  • A varied role working closely with the Partners, Advisers and wider practice team.
  • Flexible office-based working hours can be discussed to accommodate individual circumstances if required.

Ready for a new challenge?

If you are an experienced Administration Team Leader who enjoys bringing out the best in people, takes pride in running an efficient operation and is looking for an opportunity to develop your career in a new industry, we would love to hear from you.
