Adult Social Worker - Learning Disabilities

Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council are looking to recruit a qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England to work in their Adult Learning Disability Team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic, enthusiastic, supportive and fast paced environment, which positively responds to the demands of the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2007 with embedded Human Rights and strength-based approach. As a suitable candidate you will be highly motivated, organised and enjoy working autonomously as well as part of a team.
We particularly welcome applications from experienced social workers who are equipped to support the delivery of high-quality services to adults, carers and families within our borough. The authority is committed to adult safeguarding and promoting independence and welfare.
You need to be skilled and able to deliver:
- Appropriate levels of assessments of need in line with national guidance, Social Work England codes of practice alongside departmental policies/procedures and guidance.
- Develop and implement plans to meet the assessed needs of vulnerable adults and their families/carers and to undertake the role of key worker.
- Work in partnership with service users and carers in the assessment, planning and review of services.
- Work in partnership with other departments within the local authority, other statutory, voluntary and independent agencies.
- Ensure that professional standards and practice are maintained and that responsibility for practice and decision making is undertaken commensurate with the level of experience, knowledge and grade.
- Recognise safeguarding vulnerable people situations and report through agreed processes to enable appropriate action to be taken, ensuring Making Safeguarding principles are upheld.
- To be responsible for identifying and managing all risks associated with the job role through effective application of internal controls and risk assessments
- Undertake the above operational duties with the addition of undertaking vulnerable adult's investigations, court work and complex cases.
