Job Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Social Worker with strong experience in adult social care to join the North Locality team on a 12-week locum contract. You will be responsible for undertaking assessments and reviews, completing Mental Capacity Act (MCA) assessments and Section 42 safeguarding enquiries, as well as participating in the team’s duty rota.

The successful candidate will work as part of a supportive service, delivering person-centred outcomes for adults with care and support needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete comprehensive adult social care assessments.
• Undertake reviews of care and support arrangements.
• Complete Mental Capacity Act (MCA) assessments.
• Undertake Section 42 safeguarding enquiries.
• Participate in the team’s duty rota.
• Work collaboratively with individuals, families, carers and partner agencies.
• Maintain accurate and timely case records.
• Promote strengths-based and person-centred practice.
• Support individuals to maximise their independence and wellbeing.
• Manage a varied caseload in line with statutory requirements.

About You

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Adult Social Worker who is confident working within a statutory adult social care environment.

You will have strong assessment and review skills, a sound understanding of safeguarding and the Mental Capacity Act, and the ability to make effective professional decisions. You should also be comfortable working within a duty system and managing competing priorities.

Requirements

• Social Work qualification.
• Relevant experience within Adult Social Care.
• Experience undertaking assessments and reviews.
• Experience completing MCA assessments.
• Experience undertaking or contributing to Section 42 safeguarding enquiries.
• Good understanding of statutory adult social care practice.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively within a duty system.
• Strong communication, recording and partnership-working skills.

Contract & Salary

• Hours: 35 hours per weekr
• IR35: Inside
• Working Arrangement: Hybrid – 1–2 days office-based, with the duty day office-based.
• Location: Liverpool, Merseyside
