Advanced Scaffolder in the UK construction industry, it is a scaffolder who has achieved the CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card and is considered competent to lead scaffold gangs and work on complex scaffold structures. cisrs Typical duties include: Supervising scaffold erection, alteration and dismantling. Leading scaffold teams on-site. Working on complex scaffold designs such as temporary roofs, cantilever scaffolds and shoring structures. An operative normally: Holds a CISRS Scaffolder (Blue Card) for at least 12 months. Completes the CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Course. Achieves NVQ Level 3 and passes the CISRS skills assessment
dvanced Scaffolder – Typical Duties
- Supervise and lead scaffold erection, alteration and dismantling teams.
- Read and interpret scaffold design drawings and specifications.
- Construct and modify complex scaffolds, including temporary roofs, cantilevers, shoring and access structures.
- Ensure scaffolds are erected in accordance with TG20 guidance, design requirements and site procedures.
- Carry out scaffold inspections and identify defects or safety concerns.
- Brief scaffold operatives on safe working methods and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Coordinate materials, equipment and labour required for scaffold projects.
- Complete scaffold handover certificates and relevant site documentation.
- Liaise with site managers, engineers and clients regarding scaffold requirements.
- Monitor the quality of scaffold work and maintain high safety standards.
- Mentor and support trainee and part-qualified scaffolders.
Skills typically required
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of TG20, SG4 and current scaffolding regulations.
- Experience with complex scaffold structures.
