Salary: £18.00 - £20.00 per hour, depending on experience
Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week + overtime
Overtime: Weekdays & Saturdays paid at 1.5x | Sundays & Bank Holidays paid at 2x

The Role
We are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Engineer to join our team on a permanent, mobile basis.
This is a nationwide service and maintenance position, working primarily on air conditioning and cooling systems associated with specialist medical equipment. The role will involve servicing, maintenance and fault finding across AHUs, chillers, split systems and DX systems.
As an Air Conditioning Service Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnosing faults and ensuring all equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
Due to the critical nature of the equipment, there will also be an on-call requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing and reactive repairs on HVAC and cooling systems.
- Service and maintain air handling units (AHUs), chillers, split systems and DX systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and refrigeration faults.
- Carry out refrigerant leak detection and repairs.
- Complete F-Gas records and ensure equipment remains compliant.
- Identify faults and recommend remedial works where required.
- Work alongside electrical, mechanical, building services and BMS teams.
- Provide technical advice to customers where required.
- Complete service reports and maintain accurate records using company systems.
- Travel nationwide as required, including occasional overnight stays.
- Participate in an on-call rota to support critical customer sites.
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years' experience working as an Air Conditioning Engineer or similar HVAC service role.
- Strong experience in air conditioning service, maintenance and fault finding.
- Experience working with chillers, AHUs, split systems and DX systems.
- Good understanding of electrical systems and controls.
- Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance.
- F-Gas 2079 qualification.
- C&G / NVQ qualification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or relevant equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Professional, presentable and confident working directly with customers.
- IT literate with the ability to complete digital job reports and maintain accurate records.
- Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away occasionally.
- Willingness to participate in an on-call rota.
Desirable Experience
Experience working with medical imaging equipment and associated cooling systems.
Previous experience working within NHS or private healthcare environments.
Additional electrical qualifications or experience.
Experience with BMS (Building Management Systems).
Manufacturer-specific training or qualifications.
Experience using job management systems such as Clik.
