Air Conditioning Engineer in Tilbury, Borough of Thurrock

Location: London Distribution Park, Tilbury 
Salary: £40,000 – £48,000 per annum, depending on experience
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00–15:30
Contract: Temp to Perm 

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for a AC Engineer to join a facilities maintenance team based in Tilbury.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of mechanical and HVAC assets, ensuring equipment is maintained safely, efficiently and in line with contractual and statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on AC and mechanical assets across site.
• Attend and rectify mechanical faults and breakdowns.
• Complete mechanical remedial works as required.
• Carry out PPM tasks in accordance with company schedules and contractual requirements.
• Ensure all planned maintenance is completed to a high professional standard.
• Diagnose faults and identify appropriate repair or replacement requirements.
• Produce technical and situational reports where required.
• Accurately update maintenance systems and digital records following completed works.
• Use company-provided technology and CAFM systems to maintain compliance with contractual obligations.
• Escalate significant faults, incidents or site issues to the relevant Line Manager promptly.
• Ensure all work is completed in line with Health & Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures.
• Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained safely and appropriately.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 qualification in HVAC, Refrigeration or Air Conditioning.
• Valid F-Gas certification.
• Hot Water Systems and Safety / G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification.
• Water Regulations qualification.
• Good knowledge of L8 / Legionella awareness and compliance.
• PASMA certification.
• IPAF certification.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Ability to obtain or hold a clear DBS.

Experience

• Commercial HVAC maintenance.
• Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
• Reactive maintenance and fault finding.
• Mechanical building services.
• Air conditioning systems.
• Hot water systems.
• Commercial facilities maintenance environments.
• Working independently on a client site.
• Completing maintenance records and compliance documentation.
