Air Conditioning Engineer
£40k-£50k plus package
Due to continued growth and an expanding portfolio of projects across the South West, my client is looking to recruit an experienced Air Conditioning & HVAC Engineer to join their established Mechanical & Electrical team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to join a progressive, well-established business delivering high-quality commercial and residential M&E projects throughout Somerset, Dorset and the surrounding areas.
My client are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, communicates well with clients and colleagues, and is comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider project team.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance and fault-finding of a variety of air conditioning and HVAC systems.Typical duties will include:
Installation and commissioning of split, multi-split and commercial air conditioning systems
Installation of wall-mounted, cassette and ducted systemsService, maintenance and fault diagnosis of AC and HVAC equipment
Refrigeration pipework installation, pressure testing, evacuation and commissioning
Installation of condensate drainage and associated controls
Electrical connections and fault-finding associated with HVAC equipment, subject to competency
Working with leading manufacturers including Daikin, Mitsubishi and other recognised HVAC brands
Completing commissioning, service and maintenance documentation
Working from drawings, specifications and manufacturers' technical information
Liaising professionally with clients, site managers and our internal project management team
Ensuring installations are completed to a high standard and in accordance with current regulations, manufacturer requirements and company procedures
My clients workload is varied and includes high-end residential properties, commercial premises, schools, care facilities and larger M&E projects.
What We're Looking For
Ideally, applicants will have:
- Current F-Gas Category 1 qualification
- Relevant City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent HVAC/refrigeration qualification
- Proven experience within the air conditioning and HVAC industry
- Experience installing and commissioning split and multi-split systems
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Good understanding of electrical controls and HVAC systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to manage their own workload and work effectively within a wider team
- A professional approach and high standard of workmanship
Manufacturer training and experience with Daikin and Mitsubishi systems would be advantageous.Additional electrical, refrigeration, ventilation or heat pump experience would also be beneficial.
