The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide a safe, nurturing and engaging learning environment. You will play an important role in helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Assisting with learning activities and classroom tasks
  • Supporting pupils with their individual learning and development plans
  • Helping children develop confidence, independence and social skills
  • Providing emotional and behavioural support where required
  • Working closely with teachers and other professionals
  • Supporting pupils with personal care where necessary
  • Creating a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment

Previous SEN experience is highly desirable, although candidates with relevant experience in education, care, youth work, sports coaching or similar backgrounds are encouraged to apply
