AML Analyst - Professional Services

Clear Legal & Financial Recruitment

Our client is seeking an experienced AML Analyst to join its Compliance team in London.

The role will be focusing on client onboarding and due diligence within a professional services environment. You will be involved with working with corporate clients and complex ownership structures, requiring someone who can apply a practical, risk-based approach to AML rather than simply following prescribed processes.

The successful candidate will ideally come from a legal, accountancy or similar professional services environment and have experience dealing with complex entities, including overseas structures, trusts, foundations and funds.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing end-to-end AML client onboarding and due diligence for new corporate clients
• Reviewing complex corporate and ownership structures and identifying beneficial owners and PSCs
• Conducting electronic verification and other appropriate client due diligence checks
• Applying a risk-based approach to assess clients and identify potential AML risks
• Undertaking Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) on higher-risk clients and structures
• Conducting sanctions, PEP and adverse media screening and assessing relevant findings
• Reviewing and assessing Source of Funds and Source of Wealth information
• Identifying discrepancies, inconsistencies and potential risks within client information and documentation
• Communicating directly with clients to obtain outstanding information and documentation and resolve queries

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience in AML client onboarding and CDD
• Experience conducting end-to-end onboarding rather than solely transaction monitoring or remediation work
• Strong experience dealing with corporate clients and complex ownership structures
• Experience with complex entities such as overseas structures, trusts, foundations and/or funds
• Practical experience of Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD)
• Good understanding of beneficial ownership, PSCs and ownership/control structures
• Experience assessing Source of Funds and Source of Wealth
• Strong understanding of AML regulations and the application of a risk-based approach
• Ability to explain and justify AML decisions and risk assessments

Please note: Candidates whose recent experience is primarily focused on banking transaction monitoring, remediation projects or purely process-driven KYC work may be less aligned with the requirements of this position. The role requires demonstrable practical experience applying AML principles to complex client onboarding scenarios.

Benefits

• Hybrid working
• 25 days' annual leave plus three additional days off at Christmas
• Healthcare Cash Plan
• Digicare+
