The college is seeking to appoint a full-time, permanent Animal Welfare and Management Lecturer from September. The successful Animal Welfare and Management Lecturer will deliver engaging theoretical and practical lessons across a range of animal welfare and management programmes, supporting students to develop the knowledge and practical skills required for careers within the animal care industry. This is an excellent opportunity to join an experienced department committed to outstanding teaching, innovation and learner success.
The successful Animal Welfare and Management Lecturer will have:
• A BSc or equivalent qualification in Animal Science or a closely related subject
• A broad range of industry experience working with small mammals, exotics and large animals, including practical husbandry experience
• Excellent subject knowledge across animal welfare and management
• A Diploma in Teaching and Learning (Certificate in Education) or equivalent, or the willingness to work towards and achieve one
• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) and a commitment to ongoing CPD
• An MSc, MA or PhD in a relevant subject area would be highly desirable, along with previous experience working with young people
