About the Role

We are seeking an Application Operations Engineer to join an organisation supporting a newly launched, next-generation data and forecasting platform.

In this role, you will play a key part in onboarding and configuring vital data products to ensure operational users can seamlessly leverage the platform. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team, handling product configurations, testing system functionality, and managing operational ITIL processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Continuous Improvement & Testing: Assist with executing test scripts, gathering user feedback, and providing insights to development teams to enhance platform functionality.

  • Asset & Configuration Management: Ensure accurate asset tracking, secure configurations, and adherence to change control procedures.

Essential Requirements

  • Templating & Markup Expertise: Hands-on experience with logic-less templating languages like Handlebars.js or Moustache.js, along with document markup tools like Typst (or strong experience with similar markup frameworks like LaTeX/XML/JSON).

  • ITSM Tooling: Proficiency in using ServiceNow for Incident, Problem, and Change Management.

  • Operational Mindset: Proven track record in application support, configuration, or technical ops within an ITIL-aligned environment.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Ability to gather user needs and communicate effectively across multi-disciplinary technical and non-technical teams.

Why Apply?

  • Great Work-Life Balance: Minimal on-site requirement (just 1 day per week in Exeter).

  • Long-Term Project: A full 12-month contract working on a newly launched, modern platform.

  • Fast-Track Process: Single-stage, conversational video interview process.
