Are you an engineer who enjoys bridging the gap between customers, design, and manufacturing? We're looking for an Applications Engineer to join a growing engineering team, playing a key role in delivering bespoke technical solutions from concept through to completion.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their role, combining technical problem-solving, customer interaction, project support, and engineering documentation within a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Applications Engineer role outline:

As an Applications Engineer, you'll act as the technical link between customers, engineering, and manufacturing teams, ensuring projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and to specification.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Translating customer requirements into practical engineering solutions and technical documentation.
  • Producing parts lists, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
  • Acting as a technical point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supporting product design, implementation, and project delivery activities.
  • Collaborating closely with manufacturing teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout production.
  • Assisting with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) documentation and customer demonstrations.
  • Coordinating procurement requirements and supporting the timely ordering of materials and components.
  • Compiling technical information to support project close-out and invoicing activities.
  • Maintaining engineering templates, technical documentation, O&M manuals, and label drawings.
  • Supporting quality, safety, and business management system compliance.
  • Participating in internal and external project meetings.
Applications Engineer Skillset

We're interested in speaking with candidates who have:

  • An engineering qualification or relevant engineering experience.
  • Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, automation, controls, electrical, or project-based environment.
  • Strong technical documentation and organisational skills.
  • The ability to interpret customer requirements and translate them into engineering solutions.
  • Experience using engineering drawing packages such as AutoCAD would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to engage with customers and internal stakeholders.
