Location: Maidstone, Kent
Job Type: Full-time Apprenticeship
Hours: 4 days in the office, 1 day at college
About the Role
We're looking for an enthusiastic Apprentice CAD Technician to join a busy carpentry and joinery business in Maidstone. This is ideal if you're already studying a CAD Technician course, ideally in your second year or with some CAD experience and want to build a career in construction.
You'll work alongside experienced designers and technicians, seeing how technical drawings are developed and used on real projects, while continuing your college studies one day a week.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with creating and modifying CAD drawings for carpentry and joinery projects
Interpret architectural and technical drawings
Prepare and update detailed technical drawings and project documentation
Support the design team with layouts, measurements and material specifications
Keep digital drawing files and project information accurate and organised
Work closely with colleagues and learn how drawings translate into work on site
Career Progression
This apprenticeship is the start of a long-term career in construction design. Our aim is to develop the right person into a specialist Carpentry & Joinery Design Manager:
Apprentice CAD Technician → CAD Technician → Design Manager
You'll gain a solid understanding of materials, manufacturing, installation and project delivery, and take on more responsibility as you grow, working with our design, estimating, project and site teams.
What We Offer
Training, support and mentoring from an experienced team
Hands-on experience applying your college learning in a professional environment
A clear development pathway with long-term career prospects
About You
