We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Apprentice Electricians to join our growing team and help deliver Mechanical and Electrical projects across the water and wastewater sector.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will gain valuable hands-on experience both on-site and in our workshop while working towards a recognised electrical qualification. Working alongside experienced engineers, developing practical skills in electrical installation, maintenance, testing, and fault finding on real-world projects that make a difference to local communities.

Whether you're just starting your career or looking to build on your existing electrical knowledge, this apprenticeship will provide the training, support, and industry experience needed to become a skilled electrical professional. With structured learning, mentoring, and clear career progression opportunities, you'll be laying the foundations for a rewarding long-term career in engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attending all college training sessions and completing coursework and assignments to a high standard and within agreed timescales. 
  • Supporting electrical installation activities in both workshop and site environments, always working safely under the guidance of qualified engineers. 
  • Assisting with the manufacture, installation, maintenance, and commissioning of electrical control panels. 
  • Learning to install, maintain, and troubleshoot instrumentation systems and equipment. 
  • Taking part in fabrication, assembly, and electrical fitting activities across a range of engineering projects. 
  • Developing skills in electrical testing, fault finding, diagnostics, and problem-solving techniques. 
  • Installing and maintaining electrical cabling, conduit systems, and associated equipment. 
  • Safely using a variety of hand and power tools while following best engineering practices. 
  • Completing all practical and vocational requirements of your apprenticeship programme. 
  • Building and maintaining an apprenticeship portfolio, ensuring records and evidence are kept up to date. 
  • Following company policies, safe systems of work, and health and safety procedures at all times. 
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues and customers while maintaining a strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental responsibility. 
  • Supporting the wider business by undertaking additional duties and learning opportunities as required.

Skills, Experiences & Qualifications:

  • A commitment to studying towards, or currently working towards, a relevant vocational qualification such as an NVQ Level 2/3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent). 
  • A genuine interest in developing your engineering skills and gaining practical experience within industrial, process, water, or wastewater environments. 
  • A valid ECS card or equivalent CSCS-affiliated scheme card. 
  • A positive, self-motivated attitude with a strong willingness to learn and grow. 
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks effectively. 
  • Strong teamwork skills, with the confidence to collaborate and communicate with colleagues at all levels. 
  • A proactive approach, demonstrating initiative and a desire to take ownership of your development and responsibilities. 
  • A commitment to working safely and maintaining high standards of quality in everything you do.
