Your new company

My client is an established environmental consultancy with a long-standing reputation for delivering arboricultural services across a diverse range of infrastructure, development, land management and asset management projects. Due to continued growth and increasing client demand, they are looking to appoint an Arboricultural Consultant to join their expanding team.

The business has a strong track record of developing and retaining staff, with several senior members of the team having progressed internally over a number of years. They offer a supportive, collaborative culture where individuals are encouraged to develop technically, build client relationships and progress their careers.

Your new role

You'll work as part of a growing arboricultural consultancy team, delivering a varied mix of projects across the public and private sectors.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking BS5837 surveys and reporting
  • Completing tree safety inspections and risk assessments
  • Producing technical reports and management recommendations
  • Supporting planning and development projects
  • Building and maintaining client relationships
  • Contributing to the delivery of utility, infrastructure and land management projects
  • Supporting senior consultants whilst developing your own project portfolio

This is a genuinely varied position, offering exposure to a broad range of project types rather than focusing on a single client sector. The role combines fieldwork, technical reporting and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for somebody who enjoys both site and office-based work.

Hybrid working is available, typically involving a mix of site work, home working and office attendance throughout the week.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Lantra Professional Tree Inspection (PTI) qualification (essential)
  • Level 3 or Level 4 Arboriculture qualification
  • Previous arboricultural consultancy experience
  • Experience undertaking BS5837 surveys and reports
  • Sound understanding of tree risk management and arboricultural best practice
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence

Candidates with practical arboricultural experience alongside consultancy experience will be particularly attractive.

The successful candidate will be somebody who enjoys working collaboratively, is keen to continue developing professionally and wants to be part of a supportive team with genuine long-term progression opportunities.

What you'll get in return

  • £35,000 - £41,000 salary depending on experience
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
  • Structured career development and training
  • Annual performance-related pay reviews
  • Clear progression opportunities within a growing consultancy team
  • Company vehicle for business use following successful probation
  • 22 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing with service
  • Cycle to Work scheme
  • Referral bonus scheme
  • Company pension scheme
  • Healthcare scheme
  • Enhanced company sick pay
  • Professional membership fees paid and supported
  • Friendly, supportive and highly experienced team environment
  • Opportunity to work across a wide variety of project sectors
