Architectural Technologist

An opportunity has arisen for an Architectural Technologist to join a multidisciplinary design practice, providing technical design, coordination, and project delivery services across a wide range of built environment projects.
 
The role involves working as part of an integrated team to deliver high-quality technical outputs from feasibility through to construction, supporting both clients and project teams across all RIBA stages.
 
 
Key Responsibilities:
 
·Take client instructions and develop clear, structured project briefs
·Prepare planning applications, Building Regulations submissions, and Listed Building applications, liaising with clients, consultants, and authorities
·Develop design drawings through to tender stage, including working drawings and specifications
·Obtain and analyse supplier and contractor costs, including pre-tender estimates
·Manage the tender process, including post-tender analysis and preparation of tender reports
·Carry out measured surveys of existing buildings
·Support project delivery during construction, including site visits and meetings
·Review drawings and liaise with contractors and suppliers to ensure accuracy and compliance
·Assist with project reviews and improvements to design and delivery processes
·Manage risk, including commercial, health & safety, and programme considerations
·Support cross-disciplinary collaboration across project teams
 
Essential Requirements:
 
·Degree in Architectural Technology (or equivalent qualification)
·Working towards or achieved MCIAT status
·Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit
·Strong technical design and detailing ability
·Good understanding of planning, Building Regulations, and construction processes
