About the role

We are looking for an Area Planner to join the Guinness Property team in Oldham, providing a high-quality planning and coordination service to support our Responsive Repairs operation.

This is a permanent role, working 40 hours per week across operational hours of 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, plus Saturday mornings. Later shifts and Saturday working are delivered on a rota basis. We currently operate a hybrid working model, combining office and home working.

You will play a key role in coordinating the day-to-day scheduling of Responsive Repairs Operatives, ensuring work is planned efficiently and appointments are arranged to meet the needs of our residents.

The role involves managing operatives' schedules, booking and rescheduling appointments, maintaining accurate records, and updating systems to ensure repair activities are effectively monitored and tracked.

Working closely with residents, operatives and internal teams, you will help ensure clear communication, effective job allocation and a high standard of customer service. You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of service delivery and operational performance.

You will be able to demonstrate the following essential skills and experience:
  • Experience working in a customer-focused environment.
  • Experience of working to agreed performance targets and service standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work methodically, follow established procedures, and accurately record data and information.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure.
  • Experience using databases and maintaining accurate records.

Desirable skills and experience
  • Experience working within social housing.
  • Experience managing high-volume data processing activities.
  • Experience working with subcontractors.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Experience using DRS.
