Location: Warrington Area (North West, UK)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 basic + up to £10,000 annual bonus + company car
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm (40 hours per week)
The Opportunity
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially focused Area Sales Manager to join a growing industrial engineering business. This role offers the opportunity to work within a well-established international organisation while playing a key role within a close-knit UK team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and developing customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving sales growth across the UK market. The position would suit a technically minded sales professional with experience selling industrial equipment within a B2B environment.
As part of a small, collaborative team, we are looking for someone who combines strong commercial skills with a proactive attitude and a genuine commitment to customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing customers.
- Identify and secure new business opportunities across the UK.
- Promote and sell industrial equipment, spare parts and associated solutions.
- Conduct customer visits, product demonstrations and commercial presentations.
- Prepare and present quotations, negotiate commercial agreements and close sales opportunities.
- Understand customer requirements and effectively communicate service requests, parts requirements and minor modifications to internal teams.
- Work closely with engineering and customer service colleagues to deliver excellent customer support.
- Monitor customer orders, project progress and delivery schedules.
- Analyse sales activity, market trends and competitor developments.
- Attend industry exhibitions, trade shows and networking events.
- Maintain accurate reporting, forecasting and CRM records.
- Support the delivery of company sales objectives and business growth plans.
About You
Essential
- Proven experience in B2B industrial sales.
- Experience selling industrial machinery, engineering equipment or manufacturing solutions.
- Strong commercial awareness and technical aptitude.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage a sales territory independently and effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Based within a commutable distance of Warrington.
Highly Desirable
- Experience within the hot melt equipment sector.
- Knowledge of machinery used in manufacturing, packaging or production environments.
- Strong electromechanical understanding.
- Ability to discuss technical applications and recommend appropriate solutions to customers.

Working Arrangements
This is a predominantly field-based role, with regular customer visits forming a core part of the position.

- 3-4 days per week meeting customers and developing business opportunities.
- 1-2 days per week in the office collaborating with colleagues and supporting team initiatives.
