Liquid

Salary: Up to £45,402.24 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Location: Hybrid, with travel across the South of England
Office base: Bracknell
Travel: Company mileage paid for business travel

This is an opportunity to take ownership of asbestos remedial projects across a large and varied housing portfolio, working for one of the South of England’s leading housing providers.
You’ll manage projects from the initial scope through to completion, with the autonomy to plan the work, manage contractors and make sure every project is delivered safely, compliantly and to a high standard.

Essential requirements To be considered, you must have:
  • BOHS P402, or both P403 and P404, or an accepted equivalent qualification.
  • Demonstrable asbestos experience gained in a similar role with a housing association, asbestos contractor or consultancy.
  • Experience managing asbestos remedial works or programmes from planning through to completion.
  • A good working knowledge of asbestos risk management, the Control of Asbestos Regulations, CDM and wider health and safety requirements.
  • Experience managing contractors, monitoring quality and maintaining accurate compliance records.
  • A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle and the flexibility to travel across the organisation’s operational areas.
Experience within residential property or social housing would be particularly valuable. A Project Management qualification is desirable, but it is not essential as training can be provided.

Why consider this opportunity?

You’ll be joining a financially secure, purpose-led housing provider at a time of major investment in its existing homes. Safety, quality and customer experience sit at the heart of its current five-year strategy, giving this position genuine visibility and long-term importance.

The portfolio is large enough to offer variety, professional challenge and the chance to manage projects across different property types and locations. You’ll be supported by an experienced asbestos function, approved framework contractors and colleagues across property, compliance and customer services.

There is also a clear commitment to developing people. Alongside ongoing professional training, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work towards a recognised Project Management qualification.

Most importantly, the work has a clear purpose. The projects you deliver will directly protect residents, maintain safe homes and support the organisation’s wider compliance responsibilities.

The role As Asbestos Project Manager, you’ll design, plan and deliver asbestos remedial programmes across the organisation’s housing portfolio.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Preparing scopes, specifications and programmes of asbestos remedial work.
  • Managing projects from initial planning through to successful completion.
  • Coordinating approved contractors and monitoring their performance.
  • Making sure work is completed safely, on time, within budget and in accordance with current regulations.
  • Carrying out site inspections and quality audits.
  • Reviewing compliance information and completing stock survey audits.
  • Maintaining accurate records of project progress, risks, issues and outcomes.
  • Managing resident enquiries or complaints with empathy and professionalism.
  • Working closely with internal property, compliance and customer teams.
  • Identifying improvements and sharing lessons from completed projects.
You’ll need to be organised, commercially aware and confident challenging contractors when the quality, cost or compliance of the work is not where it needs to be. You should also be comfortable managing your own workload and travelling regularly to properties and project locations.
Salary and benefits The package includes:
  • Salary of up to £45,402.24, depending on experience.
  • Hybrid working.
  • Company mileage for business travel.
  • 28 days’ annual leave, plus eight bank holidays.
  • The option to buy or sell up to five days’ annual leave.
  • Employer pension contribution of up to 10%, depending on your contribution.
  • Life assurance worth five times your annual salary.
  • Retail, supermarket and lifestyle discounts.
  • Free counselling, wellbeing support and fitness sessions.
  • Cycle to Work scheme.
  • Ongoing technical and professional development.
  • The opportunity to gain a Project Management qualification.
This position would suit an experienced asbestos professional who is ready to take greater ownership of remedial projects, develop their project management experience and join an organisation making substantial, long-term investment in the safety and quality of its homes.
