Contract: Temporary, term-time only (Monday-Friday)
Daily Rate: £92.56 - £110 (holiday pay inclusive)

Academics Agency are searching for a patient, perceptive, and proactive ASD Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team.
Your Core Responsibilities:
- Create a calm, predictable, and low-arousal learning environment that minimises anxiety and sensory overload.
- Implement structured teaching approaches (e.g., TEACCH, PECS, or visual timetables) to support understanding and independence.
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions focused on social communication, emotional regulation, and life skills.
- Use tailored communication methods-including now-and-next boards, social stories, and emotion cards-to reduce frustration and build expressive confidence.
- Collaborate closely with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and class teachers to embed EHCP targets into everyday activities.
- Observe and record pupil progress, noticing subtle shifts in engagement, mood, and interaction to inform future planning.
- Support safe transitions between activities, environments, and staff changes, ensuring consistency and reassurance throughout the day.

What We're Looking For:
- Qualification: Minimum Level 3 Teaching Assistant certificate, or a relevant health/social care background.
- Experience: Proven, hands-on experience supporting children or young people with autism-whether in education, residential care, or community settings.
- DBS: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply immediately).
- References: Two verifiable professional references from recent roles.
- Personal Qualities: Genuine curiosity about autistic perspectives, inexhaustible patience, creative problem-solving skills, and a warm but consistent presence.
