Assembly Operative

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Assembler to join our production team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling small electronic or mechanical components in batch quantities. This position requires a high level of manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to follow precise assembly instructions and technical schematics.
Typical Responsibilities
- Assemble small components (electronic or mechanical) according to work instructions or samples.
- Inspect and test assembled products to ensure quality and functionality.
- Use tools such as soldering irons, small hand tools and air tools.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) and safety protocols.
- Complete production documentation as required.
- Collaborate with quality control and engineering teams to resolve assembly issues.
Qualifications
- Minimum of GCSEs, Maths and English, or further education qualifications.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in assembly.
- Experienced background in electronics manufacture.
- Proficiency with PC literacy software.
Skills / Abilities
- Skilled in assembly techniques and able to use hand and air tools.
- Good manual dexterity for working with small components.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, and BOMs.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with colleagues professionally.
- Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to handle unexpected situations and solve problems quickly and effectively.
- Familiarity with Health and Safety protocols in an electronics or technical environment.
