Assembly Operative

Location: Near Uxbridge, Middlesex (commutable from Slough, High Wycombe, Watford, Staines, Hayes, Maidenhead, Windsor, Reading and surrounding areas)

Salary: £35,500 per annum (£18.45ph) + Daily Overtime

Hours: Monday to Thursday 8:00am - 5:00pm | Friday 8:00am - 12:00pm (37 hours per week)

Duration: Permanent

Syntech Recruitment are proud to be supporting a world-renowned aerospace manufacturer in their search for Assembly Operatives to join their growing production team.

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced manufacturing or mechanical assembly professionals to work on the production of complex, life-saving aerospace equipment within a modern, highly regulated manufacturing environment.

The role offers a varied workload across precision assembly, inspection and testing, working from engineering drawings and build plans to produce high-quality mechanical assemblies and sub-assemblies.

Assembly Operative Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components, assemblies and complex sub-assemblies from engineering drawings and build instructions
  • Build high-precision products using hand tools, fixtures and assembly equipment
  • Carry out self-inspection and quality checks throughout the assembly process
  • Use measuring equipment, gauges and inspection equipment to ensure components meet specification
  • Work with a variety of manufacturing processes including riveting, adhesives, pipe bending, composites and mechanical fastening where required
  • Inspect and test finished components using gauges, measuring tools and automated testing equipment
  • Record production, inspection and non-conformance information using SAP
  • Complete work to strict quality, safety and production standards
  • Assist with continuous improvement and 5S activities within the department

Assembly Operative Requirements

  • Previous mechanical assembly or manufacturing experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Confident using hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Experience working within aerospace, defence, automotive, medical or another precision manufacturing environment would be advantageous
  • Experience with riveting, pipe bending, adhesives, composites or swaging would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of pressure testing equipment, multimeters or automated testing equipment would be advantageous
