About the Role:
The Asset Investment Manager will play a crucial role in developing robust investment plans that support the organisation's strategic objectives. This position is integral to navigating the evolving energy landscape and ensuring that investment decisions are effectively communicated to both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the development of robust Uncertainty Mechanism (UM) Engineering Justification documents, translating strategic objectives into actionable investment plans.
- Communicate investment decisions clearly and evidence-based to a diverse array of stakeholders.
- Collaborate across departments to build relationships that enhance team outputs and strengthen investment narratives.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
The successful candidate will embody the following attributes:
- Strategic Thinker: Ability to navigate complex, conflicting requirements while providing justifications for investment decisions in a rapidly changing energy industry.
- Strong Collaborator: Proven experience in building relationships across the organisation, optimising narratives across various engineering disciplines and asset types.
- Clear Communicator: Exceptional ability to articulate and justify investment decisions, incorporating stakeholder feedback to enhance the quality of UM submissions.
- Adaptability/Agility: Capable of adjusting to shifting priorities and balancing urgent tasks with long-term objectives.
The ideal candidate will also have:
- A knack for storytelling, with a passion for research and writing.
- Experience in engineering and/or asset management, with knowledge of Gas Transmission plant and equipment.
- Familiarity with regulated businesses and investment/business case development, including Cost Benefit Analysis and Whole Life Cost Analysis.
- Experience in stakeholder management and working with technical experts.
A degree or equivalent education in a relevant engineering, numerate, or science discipline is preferred but not essential.
