Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an Asset Management Assurance Manager to ensure effective systems, processes and controls are in place to manage assets throughout their lifecycle.

This is a key role responsible for driving governance, assurance and continuous improvement across the Asset Management System (AMS). The successful candidate will lead compliance with ISO 55001 standards, oversee assurance activities and identify risks and opportunities to enhance asset management performance.

Job Description

The role will provide independent assurance that assets are managed efficiently, risks are appropriately controlled, and asset management practices deliver maximum value from investment. Working closely with stakeholders across the organisation, the postholder will support informed decision-making through reporting, audits and performance insight.

We are looking for a knowledgeable asset management professional who can lead the development, maintenance and enhancement of the Asset Management System (AMS) while ensuring alignment with recognised standards and business objectives.

The successful candidate will play an important role in establishing governance frameworks, monitoring compliance, supporting audit readiness and driving continuous improvement across asset management activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, maintain and continuously improve the Asset Management System (AMS) in line with ISO 55001, IAM best practice and business objectives.
  • Establish and maintain asset management governance frameworks, policies, standards, procedures and controls.
  • Develop and deliver assurance programmes to assess the compliance, effectiveness and maturity of asset management processes and systems.
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external audits, maturity assessments and management reviews.
  • Monitor compliance with asset management standards, policies and regulatory requirements, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead corrective and preventative action plans, ensuring issues are effectively addressed and closed out.
  • Provide independent assurance on asset data, lifecycle planning, risk management and investment decision-making processes.
  • Produce performance dashboards, management reports and executive-level briefings to support strategic decision-making.

Person Specification

  • Detailed knowledge of ISO 55001.
  • Experience working with asset management framework compliance.
  • Experience conducting audits and assurance activities.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience training and influencing operational teams.
  • Previous experience working within asset management environments.
  • Knowledge of asset management governance, assurance and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to support and maintain ISO 55001 certification and audit readiness.

Essential Requirement:

  • Full UK driving licence, as regular travel is required (car or car allowance provided).
