Proactive and customer-focused Assistant Accommodation Manager required to support the day-to-day operation of a vibrant student accommodation in Portsmouth.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in student accommodation, hospitality, property management, or a customer-facing environment who enjoys delivering outstanding service and making a positive impact on residents' lives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management of daily accommodation operations, including maintenance, cleaning, security, and health & safety compliance.
  • Respond to resident enquiries, requests, and concerns professionally, delivering exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair works, liaising with contractors and service providers as required.
  • Assist with student arrivals and departures, ensuring a smooth and positive check-in and check-out experience.
  • Support budgeting activities and help manage accommodation supplies and resources effectively.
  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging social events and community-building activities for residents.
  • Uphold company policies and accommodation regulations, addressing issues fairly and professionally.
  • Maintain accurate records, update property management systems, and prepare reports when required.
  • Support emergency response procedures and assist with out-of-hours issues as needed.
  • Contribute positively to a collaborative team culture.
  • Undertake additional duties as reasonably required by management.

Skills & Experience

  • Experience within student accommodation, hospitality, property management, or a related sector.
  • Previous experience in a customer service-focused role.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • A flexible approach and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive, proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
