Assistant Accountant in Eastleigh

Are you an aspiring finance professional eager to develop your career within a dynamic distribution business? An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing organisation located in Eastleigh on a 6 month contract basis. 

What will the Assistant Accountant role involve?

• Supporting transactional processes, including reconciliations and ledger management, to ensure accurate financial data
• Assisting with month-end reporting and analysis to support senior decision-makers
• Taking ownership of specific tasks related to inventory accounting and stock management as needed
• Process month end journals, VAT returns and support with payroll

Suitable Candidate for the Assistant Accountant vacancy:

• Strong attention to detail coupled with intermediate Excel skills
• Experience or familiarity with accounting software, ideally NAV or Microsoft Business Central, is desirable
• Commercial awareness with the ability to identify issues proactively
• Eagerness to learn and develop within a supportive environment
• Effective communicator with the ability to work across transactional and month-end activities
