We're recruiting on behalf of a highly successful and expanding business seeking an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join its finance team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a fast-paced organisation where finance plays a key role in supporting continued growth.

Reporting to an experienced Finance Manager, you'll enjoy a varied role that combines day-to-day finance responsibilities with exposure to management accounting and month-end reporting. You'll be trusted to take ownership of your work while receiving the support and development needed to progress your career.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing purchase and sales ledger activities.
• Processing journals, bank reconciliations, and general ledger transactions.
• Supporting credit control and maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and month-end schedules.
• Assisting with accruals, prepayments, and management accounts.
• Producing accurate financial information to support business decisions.
• Resolving supplier, customer, and internal finance queries.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and enhance financial controls.

As the business continues to grow, you'll have the opportunity to develop your management accounting skills and take on greater responsibility within the finance function.

We're looking for someone who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.

You'll ideally have:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Assistant Accountant role.
• A solid understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger, reconciliations, journals, and double-entry bookkeeping.
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar ERP systems.
• Strong Excel skills and confidence analysing financial information.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
• A proactive approach and a willingness to learn and develop.
• AAT qualified or studying towards AAT (desirable but not essential).
