Salary: Up to £35,000 + Study Support The Opportunity Elevation Accountancy & Finance are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Castleford. This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take the next step in their career, with the chance to gain further exposure to management accounts, VAT, reconciliations and year-end processes. The Role As an Assistant Accountant, you will support the wider finance function across a range of accounting duties, including:
- Completing bank and balance sheet reconciliations
- Reviewing trial balances through to management account level
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Preparing and posting journals
- Supporting the preparation of VAT returns
- Providing support across purchase and sales ledger when required
- Producing ad-hoc reports and providing support to the Head of Finance and Company Accountant
- Assisting with the year-end audit process
- AAT Level 3 or above
- At least 3 years' experience within an accounts role
- Strong Excel skills, ideally at an advanced level
- Microsoft Dynamics or Business Central experience would be desirable
- Payroll knowledge would be advantageous
- A strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
- Salary up to £35,000
- Hybrid working (3 days in the office, 2 days from home)
