Interim Assistant Accountant – initially 6-month contract

Euston – London (hybrid – 3 days in the office/ 2 days at home)

Day rate: up to £219 per day

T2M Resourcing have been appointed to recruit this Interim Assistant Accountant role for a leading software services company. This hybrid role (3 days in the office / 2 days flexible) is within easy walking distance of London Euston and Kings Cross railway stations.

This privately equity backed group has an exceptional customer base and comprises of several group companies that complement each other, generating multiple recurring revenue streams.

We are seeking a candidate who is available to start a new role quickly; this role is initially offered as an interim contract for up to 6-months.

What will you be doing?

As Interim Assistant Accountant, you will support the Group Financial Controller in all aspects of transactional finance and reporting, including operating the sub-ledgers (AR, AP & cashbook), preparing journals, project analysis and other general finance support.

You will also take responsibility for generating and ensuring the accuracy of sales invoicing and processing purchase ledger invoices and expenses.

You will also support the preparation of monthly management accounts for the Group’s trading entities, including preparing and posting monthly journals, carrying out analysis work including Budget variance.

As Interim Assistant Accountant, key Responsibilities will include;

  • Prepare sales invoices with a clear audit trail to supporting information and calculations, allocate receipts and credit notes, liaise with customers
  • Process purchase invoices, expenses and payments in a timely manner, and post bank transactions
  • Prepare regular and accurate bank and other balance sheet reconciliations
  • Create and post standard monthly journals including preparation of supporting calculations and documentation
  • Produce supporting analysis as part of the monthly reporting cycle and take responsibility for maintaining and developing this
  • Provide the Group FC with reports and analyses to support the preparation of financial forecasts, annual budgets and supporting documentation
  • Support the Group FC with the completion of all external statutory audits and ensure compliance with internal financial controls

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified to AAT Level 4, and/or part-qualified CIMA or ACCA
  • Previous experience working with Xero Accounting System
  • Competent user of Excel and able to manipulate and analyse data proficiently
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent written, verbal and presentational skills
  • Able to work constructively under pressure, within tight deadlines
  • An energetic team player with a proactive, hands-on mindset who is keen to add value to a growing business
  • Prior experience having worked within an SME environment preferable. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate success of working in a similar role with support but minimal supervision with high levels of accuracy.
