The Advocate Group are proud to be exclusively partnering with Monster Energy to appoint an Assistant Accountant into their EMEA Finance team.

This is a genuine entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in finance within a major international consumer brand.

You might have recently completed a finance, accounting or business-related degree and be considering your professional qualifications. You could be a school leaver who has started building your accounting knowledge, or perhaps you’ve spent your first year within an audit or accountancy practice and now want to make the move into industry.

Monster aren’t looking for someone who already knows everything.

They’re looking for someone with the foundations, attitude and ambition to learn.

The opportunity

Reporting directly into the Finance Manager, you’ll join a supportive EMEA Finance team and gain hands-on exposure to the day-to-day accounting, reporting and compliance activity behind Monster Energy’s UK operations.

You’ll be coached and supported as you develop, with the opportunity to continue your professional studies alongside your role.

It’s an opportunity to learn how finance operates within a fast-paced, international FMCG business and gradually build your technical knowledge, commercial understanding and responsibilities.

What will you be doing?

Your responsibilities will develop as you grow into the position, but initially you’ll support the team across areas including:

• Bank accounting and ensuring records are accurately maintained
• Monthly and quarterly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
• Supporting external audit requirements
• Assisting with VAT, payroll tax and corporate tax reporting processes
• Supporting internal and external financial reporting deadlines
• Helping integrate new systems and technology, including Vendor Invoice Management (VIM)
• Maintaining clear accounting processes and documentation
• Supporting relationships with external service providers
• Getting involved in wider finance projects, including systems and process improvements
• Supporting the Finance Manager and wider team with ad-hoc accounting requirements

Who are we looking for?

Experience isn’t the deciding factor here.

We’re much more interested in finding someone with the right foundations and the potential to build a career within the team.

You could be:

• A recent graduate looking for your first finance/accounting position
• A school leaver who has started pursuing an accounting career
• Early into an audit or accountancy practice and interested in moving into industry
• At the beginning of a professional accounting qualification, or keen to start one

Some Excel knowledge and an understanding of basic accounting principles will be useful, but you’ll have plenty of opportunity to develop technically.

More importantly, you’ll be someone who is organised, accurate and willing to learn. You’ll communicate well, enjoy being part of a team and be comfortable asking questions and taking feedback.
