We're looking for an Assistant Bid Writer to join our growing team in Ross-on-Wye. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong writing and communication skills who is looking to build a long-term career in bid management, business development and proposal writing.
Working closely with our Bid Manager, Business Development Team, Marketing Team and technical experts across the business, you'll play an important role in creating compelling bid submissions that help us win work across both the public and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Draft, edit and proofread bid and tender responses to create clear, compelling and client-focused submissions.
- Support the preparation and submission of compliant bid documents, ensuring accuracy, consistency and attention to detail.
- Coordinate and gather information from internal teams and subject matter experts.
- Maintain bid records, content libraries and supporting documentation.
- Assist with supplier questionnaires, pre-qualification submissions and company information updates.
- Research clients, sectors and opportunities to support bid and business development activities.
- Work with the Bid Manager to continuously improve bid content, processes and submission quality.
Person Specification:
- Excellent written English and communication skills.
- Strong proofreading, editing and attention to detail.
- Ability to write clearly, accurately and succinctly.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Confident working collaboratively with colleagues and subject matter experts.
- An interest in developing a career in bid writing and proposal management.
- Experience writing, editing or reviewing professional documents.
- GCSE English (Grade C/4 or above).
