Following continued growth, the business is looking to strengthen its procurement team with the appointment of an Assistant Materials Buyer. Working closely with experienced Buyers, Commercial teams and senior leadership, you'll gain exposure to a wide range of façade, cladding and remediation projects across London and the South East while developing the skills and knowledge required to progress into a Buyer position.
This role would suit someone with construction buying, procurement or materials experience who is looking to join a business where progression is genuinely available rather than waiting years for an opportunity to arise.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with the procurement of materials across multiple construction projects
- Obtaining and comparing supplier quotations to ensure best value
- Raising purchase orders and monitoring material deliveries
- Maintaining supplier relationships and identifying new supply chain opportunities
- Supporting Commercial and Project teams with procurement requirements
- Ensuring materials are ordered in line with programme requirements
- Assisting with supply chain management and supplier performance monitoring
- Experience within a Buying, Procurement, Purchasing or Construction support role
- Previous construction industry experience is essential
- Background within facades, cladding, drylining, roofing, building envelope or general construction would be advantageous
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ambitious individual looking to develop their career within procurement
- Easily commutable to South London full time
