We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Centre Manager to join a leading automotive retailer in Swindon, Wiltshire. Our client is one of the UK's largest network of automotive service centres and tyre outlets, offering a dynamic working environment with excellent career development opportunities.
As the Assistant Centre Manager, you will support the Centre Manager in overseeing daily operations at the Swindon location. Your responsibilities include managing a team of workshop and front-of-house staff, assisting with mechanical support when required, maintaining stock levels, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.

  • 42.5 hours per week over a guaranteed 5-day schedule, Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm and 1 in 2 Saturday shifts 8:00am-4:00pm (with a day off in the week when working a Saturday)
Duties of the Assistant Centre Manager:
  • Supporting the Centre Manager with operational management of the depot
  • Assisting in workshop activities and providing mechanical support as needed
  • Contributing to achieving centre targets and key performance indicators
  • Overseeing stock levels and maintaining centre compliance
  • Delivering high standards of customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Upholding health and safety policies and procedures
  • Supporting team development and motivation to foster a positive working environment
Requirements of the Assistant Centre Manager:
  • Proven experience in an automotive retail or service environment at supervisory or team leader level
  • Technical/mechanical knowledge of vehicles
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to develop a positive team culture and drive performance
  • Experience in sales maximisation, cost control, and maintaining compliance standards
  • A valid UK driving licence with minimal points
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
