This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Ecologist to join a supportive team and gain exposure to a varied portfolio of projects across the Highlands. The Assistant Ecologist will contribute to ecological surveys, fieldwork, reporting and ecological mitigation, with opportunities to develop experience across a broad range of protected species and habitats.

The Assistant Ecologist role will involve:

• Undertaking habitat and protected species surveys
  * Supporting ecological impact assessments and reporting
  * Assisting with ecological mitigation and monitoring
  * Contributing to ECoW and construction-related ecological work
  * Travelling across the Highlands and Islands, with occasional overnight stays

To be considered:

• Relevant degree or equivalent experience in ecology/environmental science
  * Some practical ecology survey experience
  * Good understanding of Scottish ecology and protected species
  * Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  * Full right to work in the UK
  * Living in or within a commutable distance of Inverness
