Assistant Estimator / Estimator - Civil Engineering

Assistant Estimator or Estimator level professional with experience of working on civil engineering projects required to join a London based industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing accurate cost estimates and tenders for civil engineering and infrastructure projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, bills of quantities and other tender documentation
• Obtaining and analysing supplier and subcontractor quotations
• Supporting the development of labour, plant, materials and subcontractor costs
• Contributing to tender submissions, cost plans and commercial reviews
• Working closely with commercial, design, procurement and project delivery teams
• Maintaining clear and accurate estimating records throughout the tender process
• Supporting value engineering and identifying commercial risks and opportunities

• Experience in civil engineering estimating, ideally gained within a contractor environment
• Strong understanding of construction costs, project pricing and tender processes
• Experience working on civil engineering projects
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and quantities
• Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
• Confident communication skills with the ability to liaise with suppliers, subcontractors and internal teams
• Willingness to develop a career across the rail, nuclear, airport and energy sectors
