Our client, a leading provider of facilities services in the UK, is seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to ensure the safe, compliant and competent delivery of facility services across a regional contract covering seven sites, including Hook, Fareham, Guildford and locations along the M3 corridor.

The role is accountable to the Regional Facilities Manager and involves line managing and supervising facility staff while supporting the consistent delivery of high-quality services. The position requires a hands-on approach, working closely with operational teams to maintain service standards and enhance the overall workplace experience.

The successful candidate will take a proactive role in driving operational performance, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards and identifying opportunities for continuous service improvement. Regular travel between sites is required, alongside a strong focus on customer satisfaction and team development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery and development of service solution systems, identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure a healthy, safe and secure environment, maintaining compliance with all Health & Safety legislation
  • Manage rostering to meet contractual requirements, including cover for sickness and planned absences
  • Ensure all documentation (audits, COSHH, H&S, SOPs) is completed, up to date and appropriately reviewed
  • Oversee recruitment, training, development and supervision of frontline staff
  • Ensure all customer queries and complaints are recorded and managed in line with procedures
  • Complete all required reporting, administration and paperwork within agreed timelines
  • Maintain cost control across materials, consumables, pay and agency labour, while supporting revenue and margin opportunities

Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications

  • Experience working with customers, with exposure to hard services desirable
  • Ability to communicate effectively with different levels of management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages
  • Experience liaising with engineers would be advantageous
  • IOSH certification desirable (training can be provided)
  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence
