Assistant Financial Controller

Chase & Holland are delighted to be supporting a growing and innovative business operating within the sustainability sector, as they look to appoint an Assistant Financial Controller to join their friendly and forward-thinking finance team.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play an important role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business, helping to ensure accurate and timely financial information is available across the organisation.
The Role:
- Supporting the preparation of monthly management accounts and reporting packs
- Preparing monthly accruals, prepayments and journals
- Carrying out bank reconciliations and maintaining the fixed asset register
- Assisting with cash flow forecasting and budgeting
- Managing day-to-day credit control and customer debt collection
- Raising sales invoices and payment applications
- Processing purchase orders, supplier invoices, payments and receipts
- Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring the order book is kept up to date
- Supporting payroll and VAT preparation, processing and reconciliation
- Producing reports and presenting key financial information to managers and directors
- Maintaining customer and supplier accounts within the accounting system
- Supporting the Financial Controller with wider finance projects and ad-hoc reports
- Working closely with colleagues across the business to ensure a smooth financial process from order through to payment
About You:
- Proven experience within a similar role
- Minimum AAT Level 4 or equivalent, or substantial relevant finance experience
- Strong experience across Excel and accounting systems
- Good understanding of transactional finance and management accounting
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
- A proactive, self-motivated and solutions-focused approach
