Liberty Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering exclusively with our client in the search for an Assistant Financial Controller to join their friendly and collaborative finance team. It is a full-time, permanent position, paying up to £40,000.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a close-knit finance function where you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities, providing essential support across financial reporting, reconciliations, direct debit administration, and process improvement activities.
This role would suit someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership of their work, and is keen to develop their finance career within a business that actively supports professional growth.
The Role:
- Overseeing regular collection runs and ensuring all associated reporting and administration is completed accurately.
- Acting as a key point of contact with the company's banking partner, ensuring changes are implemented efficiently and with minimal disruption.
- Supporting the Underwriter Finance team with monthly bordereaux submissions and associated reconciliations.
- Assisting the Financial Controller with monthly Group reporting requirements.
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls.
- Maintaining accurate fixed asset records and registers.
- Ensuring claims revenue is recorded accurately and funds are transferred appropriately.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and increase efficiency.
- Assisting with year-end statutory audits and other audit requirements as required.
Your Experience:
- Previous experience working within a similar role.
- A sound understanding of reconciliations, financial controls, and month-end processes.
- Experience using Sage 50 would be advantageous.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities.
