About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Assistant Headteacher to join Craig-Y-Parc School, supporting the Headteacher and Senior Leadership Team in delivering high-quality education and care for children and young people with complex needs.
The school supports pupils aged 3–19, including those with PMLD, ASD, ASC, sensory and physical impairments, and SLCN.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the Headteacher with the day-to-day leadership and management of the school.
- Lead and support staff development, coaching, and performance management.
- Contribute to the school's strategic vision, policies, and improvement plans.
- Support the development of a personalised curriculum suited to pupils' individual needs.
- Monitor teaching, learning, and pupil progress to ensure high standards.
- Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, positive behaviour, and an inclusive school environment.
- Build strong relationships with parents, carers, external professionals, and agencies.
- Work with the Senior Leadership Team to drive continuous improvement and positive pupil outcomes.
About You
- Experience in a leadership or senior management role within education, ideally SEND or specialist education.
- Experience working with children and young people with complex needs, PMLD, ASD, or SLCN.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing.
- Experience leading and developing teaching and support staff.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, families, and external professionals.
- Strong commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
