The Role

Working closely with the Headteacher, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across all aspects of pastoral care.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading behaviour, attendance and pastoral support across the school.
  • Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring the highest standards of safeguarding and student welfare.
  • Developing and implementing whole-school pastoral strategies that improve outcomes.
  • Leading and developing staff through coaching, performance management and professional development.
  • Using behaviour and attendance data to drive school improvement.
  • Building strong relationships with pupils, families, external agencies and professionals.
  • Supporting the day-to-day leadership of the school and deputising for the Headteacher when required.



About You

We're looking for a confident, resilient and compassionate leader who is committed to achieving the very best outcomes for every pupil.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Proven leadership experience within a school setting.
  • A strong track record of improving behaviour, attendance and pastoral provision.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Outstanding communication, organisational and leadership skills.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and develop staff while building positive relationships with pupils, families and external agencies.
  • Experience within an SEN and/or SEMH setting would be an advantage.
