This vacancy, the result of an employee moving into a more senior role and will be office based for at 5 days per week.
Reporting to the head of financial reporting this role will be an intrinsic part of the accounting and finance team.
The Responsibilities
The purpose of this role is to provide support in the preparation of monthly management reports/accounts, as well as assisting in stock accounting tasks. You will also be required to work with operational teams in the facilitation of accounting process improvements and deep insight into financial matters.
On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;
Assist with monthly management accounts (including multi-currency reporting)
Analyse product margin reports and investigate variances
Support stock and inventory reporting
Maintain financial ledgers for subsidiary companies
Assist with year-end, audit, and regulatory reporting
Reconcile stock to the general ledger and resolve discrepancies
Prepare and distribute stock ageing reports
Support stock counts and audits
Provide finance support to operational teams on stock-related queries
Assist with VAT returns and wider tax compliance
Support customs and duty processes
Help prepare information for audits and regulatory submissions
Support ERP systems (Intact IQ / Business Central), particularly stock modules
Contribute to improving finance processes and reporting accuracy
Assist with reconciliations, journals, and month-end tasks
Provide ad hoc financial analysis
Build strong working relationships across the business
The Requirements
We are looking for a CIMA/ACCA part qualified assistant accountant who has a minimum of 5 years of accounting experience (gained within the UK). Our client is looking for an individual who has relevant assistant management accounting and stock/inventory management accounting experience ideally within a services business. Our client prides itself on fostering a collaborative and together working environment so candidates will need to be inclusive and team players. You will have to have a proactive, can-do attitude and be able to work on your own initiative. Soft skills that would be vital for this role include attention to detail, strong analytical skills and being highly organised.
