Assistant Management Accountant

£30,000 - £35,000 (DOE) + Study Support

We are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant to join a successful and expanding organisation based in Harrogate. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is actively studying AAT, CIMA or ACCA and is looking to develop their management accounting experience within a supportive finance team.

Reporting into the Management Accountant, you will play a key role in the production of monthly management accounts, financial reporting and budgeting activities, whilst gaining exposure to a broad range of finance responsibilities within a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs
• Preparing prepayments, accruals and journal entries
• Completing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Performing bank reconciliations and maintaining control schedules
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
• Assisting with sales and purchase invoicing activities
• Supporting year-end audit requirements and statutory reporting
• Acting as a key point of contact for internal finance queries
• Assisting with accounts payable and ad hoc finance projects as required

About You:

• Currently studying towards AAT, ACCA or CIMA, or recently completed AAT Level 4
• Previous experience within a finance role, ideally with exposure to month-end processes
• Strong Excel skills and confidence working with finance systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills with a proactive and positive approach
