We're working with a globally recognised higher education institution to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant on a 3-month temporary contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified finance professional looking to gain experience within a large, complex organisation while supporting a busy finance team through key reporting cycles.

Based in Euston, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering accurate management information, supporting month-end processes, budgeting and forecasting activities, and providing insightful financial analysis to stakeholders.

The Role

Reporting to a Management Accountant, you will support the delivery of a full management accounting service, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting across the business.

  • Supporting month-end close activities including accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Producing monthly management accounts and financial reporting packs
  • Completing balance sheet reconciliations and resolving reconciling items
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Conducting variance analysis and investigating financial movements
  • Supporting cost management and financial performance monitoring
  • Working closely with Finance Business Partners and operational stakeholders
  • Maintaining accurate financial data and reporting integrity
  • Supporting process improvements and driving efficiencies across finance activities
  • Providing guidance and support to non-finance stakeholders where required

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

  • Part or fully qualified accountant status (ACCA, CIMA, ACA or equivalent) or relevant finance experience
  • Previous experience within a management accounting or finance role
  • Strong month-end, budgeting and forecasting experience
  • Excellent Excel and financial analysis skills
  • Experience preparing reconciliations and management reports
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Desirable

  • Experience within Higher Education, Public Sector or a similarly complex organisation
  • Oracle Financials or comparable ERP system experience
